Marketing Co-Ordinator


We are seeking an ambitious individual to join our marketing team to help plan, create and deliver a wide and varied communication journey across a number of platforms and mediums. You will have a degree in a relevant subject - and  ideally with at least 1-2 years of experience within a marketing / communications type environment. You will be joining the company at a very exciting time of growth and expansion alongside our aim to deliver the best challenge events in the market.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Manage our APP platform (content & imagery)
  • Implement and track digital marketing campaigns
  • Assist in producing / maintaining website content
  • Execute social media strategies
  • Update customer databases
  • Implement a program  of e-shot campaigns
  • Draft and edit communications material
  • Prepare presentations and reports

Who we are looking for...

You will be a self motivated, hard working, confident individual with the desire to work in a dynamic, busy team – with a flexible approach to work and with a rounded skill-set and a very good eye for detail and numerate.  You will ideally have some previous experience of website editing and CMS platforms, you will have a real interest in developing online platforms and deliver work to a high standard and level of detail.

You will be:

  • Degree level education
  • Excellent written and general communications skills
  • Capable of analysing data
  • Experience of online platforms and social media
  • Experience of editing websites / APPS
  • Enthusiastic, passionate and excited to work within the sector we operate within
  • Solid office I.T. skills

Customer Services & Admin Assistant

Action Challenge, are an International Event Organisers, who specialise in charity and corporate challenge events both in the UK and overseas. We are looking for a Sales & Administrative Assistant to assist with the running and operations of events as well as dealing with clients and incoming enquiries.

This role is an ideal opportunity for a recent graduate to gain experience within a busy and dynamic events company, working on some of the UK’s biggest and most loved challenge events. You will have an office based role, with the opportunity to gain on event experience throughout the year.

Responsibilities & Duties: -

  • Responding to sales & customer questions enquiries, telephone calls, emails
  • Processing of invoices, and record keeping of finances
  • Creating invoices & up keeping finance files
  • Updating and maintaining accurate records of clients
  • Maintain records and file documents for instance; work sheet packs, risk assessments, finance & invoices
  • Deal with any customer complaints
  • Data inputting & record keeping
  • Act as a daily contact point in office for incoming enquiries
  • Assist with general administration associated with challenge events
  • Reporting on data & analysis - excel spreadsheets & online records
  • Support social media strategy

Skills required: -

  • A minimum of 1 year recent experience in providing administrative support within a busy office environment
  • Or just graduated with experience within a workplace during studies
  • Strong IT skills including Microsoft Office Software, including word, excel and outlook
  • Excellent time management skills and ability to focus on tasks set
  • Excellent organisational, communication and interpersonal skills
  • Be able to relate to staff at all levels
  • Flexible with working hours whenever required - and weekend event work
  • Works well under pressure in a very fast paced environment

Event Management Intern


Excellent opportunity for an outstanding candidate to join an exciting and dynamic mass participation events agency for a 2 month term. Start date flexible - primarily based in our LONDON HEAD OFFICE.

You will be an integral member of the team, assisting and supporting the event tams with the delivery of a portfolio of events spanning a variety of disciplines including trekking, running and cycling.

A varied and flexible role, your day to day duties will include, but are not limited to the following:

  • Helping to deliver world class charity challenge events
  • Providing quality customer service to our participants and charity partners
  • Prepping equipment, materials and literature ready for event delivery
  • Coordinating the staff teams that work on the events
  • Research, design and innovation
  • Assisting on weekend events throughout the summer events season
  • Other Related administration


The ideal candidate will:

  • Be enthusiastic, resourceful and pro active with a genuine interest in an event management career
  • Be a graduate with with a keen interest in outdoor sports events
  • Be a highly organised multi-tasker
  • Have proven experience in an organisational  role, able to follow process and manage own workload
  • Be confident with good interpersonal skills and good telephone manner
  • Have excellent, demonstrable Excel, Word, and PowerPoint expertise
  • Be a fluent speaker of English and eligible to live and work in the United Kingdom
  • Be excited about working on multiple weekend events (in exchange for lieu/overtime) throughout the event season May – September.



In exchange for your hard work and enthusiasm Action Challenge will provide opportunity to rapidly gain hands on experience in a range of event related disciplines including operations, marketing, production and delivery.

Additionally we will pay you £200.00 per week plus overtime for weekend event roles.

Event Crew

You are at the core of our ‘on-event’ team, tasked with a variety of different roles over the course of the event from infrastructure set-up to manning information and registrations areas, helping with catering and all of the other diverse jobs at our rest stops. Of course none of these jobs would be complete without giving a cheer to our fundraisers who are making their way through our event.

Volunteer Trek Masters

As a Trek Master you will be the main support on the route of the challenge, you will be largely situated in between our site rest-stops walking through stages of the route where your care counts the most to our participants. Your role will be varied and can entail everything from interaction with the participants and helping those who need it most, checking routes and signage, static marshalling potential hazards along the route and reporting anything to control. Fundamentally we are looking for experienced walkers to represent Action Challenge on the front-line of the event…. The route!

Action Challenge's volunteers are highly valued, bringing positive energy and fun to our events - and most crucially supporting our challengers when they need it most. For many who volunteer with us it is a highly rewarding experience - some have friends and family on the challenge and want to be part of the event, others are perhaps looking for experience within the challenge and events world before taking on more responsibility themselves; others do it because they just love it!

Expedition Leaders

We are always on the look out for Mountain Leaders with experience trekking and leading groups at altitude with a passion for delivery outstanding experiences. Across the year we have over 30 Kilimanjaro departures, as well as many other trekking challenges and expeditions across the globe. We organise treks along the Great Wall of China to Everest Base Camp - from small to large groups, children to corporate teams - if you think you have the right experience please apply!

UK & Expedition Doctors

Every event we organise is accompanied by an event Doctor. Along with the expedition leaders or site managers, it’s your responsibility to oversee the health and physical well-being of our participants. From running day to day clinics for the challengers and offering words of encouragement where required, to facilitating evacuations in medical emergencies, life is certainly never dull for our event Medics.

In order to qualify successfully as an International medic for Action Challenge, you must be a qualified Doctor with fantastic people skills, a love for the great outdoors, a real desire to help others to achieve their goals and also have personal or professional high altitude experience (3500m+ above sea level). Completion of an Expedition Medical course or similar and previous experience on high altitude treks are also highly desirable as is experience as a medic on an Action Challenge UK event.
