Over this 10 day challenge, we spend 5 days trekking in the tranquil Sierra del Escambray mountains, through a delightful terrain of forests, orchards and gardens with views of majestic waterfalls. We cross Lake Habanilla to Casa de la Gallega and spend the afternoon swimming in the refreshing pools of the stunning 50 metre waterfalls of ‘El Salto del Rocio’. Trekking through the historic forests of Caribbean pine and eucalyptus, we climb to the Escambray Mountains and Hacienda Codina coffee estate. We spend several more tough days hiking past the natural beauty of Cuba, stopping for delicious meals along the way. Before returning home we spend our last day in Cuba exploring the city of Havana.
