Winter time on Toubkal can be a trekker’s paradise. The trails are quiet, and the peaks of the High Atlas are snow-capped and stunning in the sunlight.
This five day group challenge takes us to the summit of North Africa’s highest mountain, Mount Toubkal at 4,167m. We start our three days of trekking in the foothills of the High Atlas, where picturesque valleys lined with juniper trees offer us shade on our descend into the Mizane Valley. We spend an afternoon at Base Camp learning how to use ice axes and crampons, before making our final climb to the summit. It can be a challenging climb, depending on the snow level, however we are rewarded with unrivalled views from the magnificent Mount Toubkal of the surrounding peaks, with Marrakech to the North, and the vast expanse of the Sahara to the South. Our final day will be spent exploring Marrakech’s souks and sites before coming together for a celebratory dinner.
The adventure begins as soon as you sign up; you will receive access to our Challenge App, as well as information about our training weekends in the UK. Here you can meet our trek leaders, members of your group and other like-minded people taking part in one of our challenges around the world! If you are raising money for a charity we will take care of all the formalities for you as you prepare for your trekking challenge to Mount Toubkal.
