London to Paris for Diabetes UK

Depart London

From the start line in Richmond, our route takes us across the Thames at Staines,
edging around green and pleasant Windsor Great Park and the head of Virginia Water.
Follow the rolling hills through towns such as Bagshot and Farnborough, before
bringing us into Portsmouth where we refresh and board the overnight ferry to Caen.

Caen to Evreux

distance to the famous Pegasus Bridge, and the site of the first house to be liberated
from the German forces in June 1944. The original Bridge can be viewed nearby, and
we can visit the small museum if time permits. We cycle through quaint and charming
farmland in an area steeped in WWII history before reaching Evreux where we put our feet up and relax to prepare for the final stretch tomorrow.

Evreux to Paris

And so to our final day! An early start sees us cross the river Eure and through
Charismatic French towns as we pass through the Seine valley. We have a good stretch
of long, interrupted roads with only fields and forest around us before crossing the River
L’oise at the pleasant suburb of Pontoise before taking a direct route into Paris past the
arc de triumphe, the Champs Elysee and finishing in full view of the Eiffel Tower. We
then check into our hotel and rest before our celebratory dinner!
