fundraising ideas

As well as asking your friends, family and colleagues for sponsorship, you will need to be more adventurous in your fundraising plans. People tend to be far more generous if you get them involved and use the opportunity to articulate details of your challenge and of your charity - rather than just asking them to put their hands in their pockets. Below are just a few ideas to get you started!

SMALL

  • Leave a link to your online fundraising page in email signatures, on notice boards, and more...!
  • Bag pack at your local supermarket
  • Cake sale at work or your child's school
  • Guess the name of the teddy / how many sweets in a jar - an old school favourite!
  • Dress down day at work - ask everyone to pay
  • eBay unwanted items

MEDIUM

  • Organise a raffle and ask people to donate prizes
  • Make and sell - if you're creative, get baking or making and sell off your goods!
  • Car Boot / Garage sale
  • Swimathon - get people to sponsor you

LARGE

  • Organise a quiz night - charge an entry fee
  • Host a dinner party - ask people to donate the amount they would pay if they were in a restaurant
  • BBQ / sports day - get your friends and family over for a day of fun - charge for your entertainment
  • Sports tournaments - get as many teams together and charge an entry fee to players and spectators
  • Organise a fashion show - charge for tickets
  • Perhaps try and get your work to sponsor you or do matched giving.
