Generally the fitter you are the more you will enjoy the whole experience of trekking in Nicaragua. The challenge is very achievable with the correct training, and the slow pace set along the trail. The terrain is undulating and there will be some long up and down hill stretches. We will trek up and down volcanoes, and over very varied terrain. It requires a reasonable level of strength, stamina and determination. Your training should incorporate aerobic (endurance building), anaerobic (strength building) exercises and some good long walks, preferably uphill!
