trek Nepal for Homeless International

itinerary

DAY 1

Depart London

We depart London on an overnight flight to Kathmandu, Nepal.

 

DAY 2

Arrive Nepal

On arrival into Nepal we are transferred to our hotel in the centre of Kathmandu where we can relax and recover from our long journey. Later this afternoon there will be some time to explore the area around our hotel. This evening we enjoy a welcome meal to mark the start of our time in this incredible country.

DAY 3

Pokhara

This morning we wake early and make our way to the domestic terminal for our internal flight to Pokhara. Upon arrival we transfer directly to the project that Homeless International partner within Nepal where we will be officially welcomed and briefed about what our jobs will be at the project over the next two days. Pokhara is based in the shadow of the beautiful and sacred Machapuchare mountain and after our day’s work we will get a chance to relax in this vibrant and appealing town.

DAY 4-5

The Community Project Work

For the next two days of our challenge we transfer each day to the local Homeless International Project that helps slum dwellers and communities gain access to basic amenities such as water, sanitation and even land, and helps them build their own homes. Each day we will be working with our local team on the project in a number of different ways which will include building work on houses. There will be a chance in the afternoon to meet with the local staff and understand much better the plight of the displaced communities in Nepal. Later we transfer back to our Pokhara lakeside hotel.

DAY 6

Pokhara - Bhumdi

Today we start our trek, transferring early in the morning to the road head on the trail for our first days trek. This part of the journey is green and lush. You really know you are beginning to get into the heart of the Annapurna region following the forest paths, passing through bustling local villages to Bhumdi, for the first night of camping.

DAY 7

Bhumdi - Panchase Danda

From Bhumdi we will have a spectacular trek to reach PanchaseDanda. En-route there are amazing views of the Dhaulagiri, Annapurna I, II, III, IV, LamjungHimal and Manaslu mountains. Tonight we camp in PanchaseDanda.

DAY 8

Panchase Danda - Bhadure

After breakfast we will start our descent into the forest whilst still being spoilt with amazing views of the Annapurna and Dhaulagiri mountains. Bhadure, a is Gurung village. The Gurung people, also called Tamu, are an ethnic group that migrated from Mongolia in the 6th century to Nepal. They still today practise Buddhism and the group will get to experience the real mountain living of Nepal. Overnight camp in Bhadure.

DAY 9

Bhadure - Naudnada

After breakfast we will start our descent into the forest whilst still being spoilt with amazing views of the Annapurna and Dhaulagiri mountains. Bhadure, a is Gurung village. DAY 10

Kathmandu Free Day

Today there is a half day sightseeing tour in the morning with the rest of day at leisure.

DAY 11

Depart Kathmandu for UK

This morning we transfer to the airport in time for our return flight to the UK.
