Prior to our ride, we stay at the charity’s Chem-Chem Campsite, located on the lush green slopes of Kilimanjaro by a stream. Staying at Chem-Chem gives an off-the-beaten-track experience of village life among the Chagga tribe. This will prepare us for our ride and give us a glimpse of village life. It is those village children and many like them who will benefit from our sponsorship. Our ride takes us through plantations and small villages on our way to the game parks that abound to the west of the Kilimanjaro – our circumnavigation will be at an average of almost 2000m. The cycle challenge finishes back in Moshi, where we have a celebration to mark the end of the challenge.
